Zacatecas
Zacatecas,
known as the land of the Mexican Revolution, is a vivid example of the
European influence that marked this period in Mexico’s history. The fine
flirtation of the women, and the chivalry and resolved attitude the men
dance with, portray the people of high society during the 19th Century.
The dances, with steps based on footwork that include shuffle and waltz,
to the rhythm of Tambora Zecatecana, begin with the traditional “Marcha de
Zacatecas” which represents a hymn for the natives of this state.
