Jarabes Antiguos de Michoacan Michoacan is one of the province states that dispute musical and popular dance supremacy in Mexico. Ensambles offers a brief mosaic that begins with the state’s version of the dance of the “Sonaja” which means Rattle. It concludes with a sample book reminiscent of the Spanish dances, Jota and Zarabanda, pointing out the unmistakable signs of their mestization.
