El Son Jarocho is a courtship dance traditionally represented by a subtle flirtation between men and women, and also challenges the dancer to execute elaborate and heavy footwork. It also gives the opportunity for men to display their elegance as they dance as well as, the women’s flirtatious style. The music adds flavor to the dance and prop the movements of the dancers, while testing the faculty of improvisation of the Veracruzano Trovador.
